The Antiquities Wellington Inn offers a unique and historic lodging experience in Traverse City, characterized by its preserved charm and friendly hosts. Guests consistently praise the property's beautiful atmosphere, delicious breakfasts, and convenient location. While some guests have noted logistical challenges with check-in times, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive.
What a truly unique and amazing place the Wellington Inn is. It was everything we expected it to be. If you are looking for boring clean cut modern, then this is not for you, but if you want quality old charm historic, then this is the place to head for. Barb and Hank were wonderful hosts, so knowledgeable and interesting. My wife and I loved it, so different than all the other 'same as same as' locations. Highly recommended.
Beautiful, authentic 1905 home with lots of historic charm, and the breakfast was excellent. The hosts were friendly and thoughtful throughout our stay. That said, the strict 4–6 p.m. check-in window required us to rearrange our plans, and there seemed to be some uncertainty about accommodating my husband arriving later after work, which felt a bit awkward. The beds were uncomfortable, the tub/shower was difficult to use, and while the house was quiet, every creak and movement from other guests carried throughout the home, so it didn't feel very private. Overall, it's a lovely place for those seeking a true historic B&B experience, but there were a few comfort and logistics issues that affected our stay.
This was a beautiful stay in a great location. Breakfast was amazing and our hosts were friendly and accommodating. Within walking distance to downtown. The house is just beautiful. Would highly recommend.
Barb, Hank and the staff at Wellington Inn went above and beyond to make our stay in their beautiful home special. Thank you for the clean room, great A/C, use of the ballroom and delicious breakfasts. If you’re going to Traverse City you won’t be disappointed if you stay at the Wellington inn.
This is truly one of my husband and I’s top places we have ever stayed at (in the U.S. and out of the country)!! Barb and Hank are wonderful hosts and their knowledge on the history of the home is incredible. Their love for their home is shown in how preserved they keep the beautiful charm and coziness of the historic house. They also serve a delicious breakfast! Definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys history and the finer things!
I liked this property a lot. We stayed in the Art Deco room, which is the 2 bedroom, 2 Bath apartment in the guest house that adjoins the mansion. The location is very good—it’s in an old neighborhood of beautiful homes and it’s also a short walk to Front Street, which is where all the restaurants, shops and bars are. Also, the place has been perfectly rehabbed and very well decorated, and the kitchen was well equipped. We would stay here again for sure.
We stayed with Barb and Hank at their beautiful inn for three nights with a group of friends. The location was great, rooms were beautiful and Barb and her staff were exceptional. We had all the rooms in the inn booked and Barb allowed us to have the third floor ballroom with a small but fully appointed kitchen as our gathering space for evenings before and after dinner. During our stay one member of our group had to go to the emergency room and was admitted for two nights. Barb and Hank were very helpful in allowing that couple to extend their stay because of this unexpected situation. I would highly recommend the Wellington Inn for a stay in Traverse City.
We had a lovely stay at Wellington Inn. Barb and Hank were lovely hosts sharing tips about where to eat and what to see. Our room included a small balcony and was absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed breakfast every morning with other guests. Can't beat the location, we walked to town multiple times during our stay.
The Wellington Inn was the perfect way to experience Traverse City. Nestled in a location that is easily walkable to downtown shops and restaurants, and the bay, but surrounded by manicured historic homes make the Wellington Inn the perfect blend of convenience and well appointed charm. Barb and Hank have thought of every detail and make guests feel at home in this historically preserved gem. Our experience and the breakfast will have us looking for excuses to come back and visit again.
My wife and I stayed at the Wellington Inn for our anniversary on our way to Mackinac Island. The Wellington Inn is very well located for walking downtown and along the lake shore. Barb and Hank have done such a wonderful job keeping that house in such great and well-appointed condition which is no easy feat for a house that old. Our room was great. We enjoyed our breakfast and met some other very nice guests. We cannot recommend the Wellington Inn enough!
