Chateau Chantal offers a beautiful setting with stunning vineyard and bay views, consistently praised for its welcoming atmosphere and excellent wines. Guests particularly enjoy the tasting room experience and knowledgeable staff, though some have noted potential commercialization and limited shade on the outdoor patios.
I had such a great time at Chateau Chantal! The winery itself was beautiful, the wine was delicious, and the service was excellent. Leia in the wine tasting room was especially helpful and made the experience even better. I ordered a $15 flight, which I thought was a great deal considering you get three 2 oz pours of your choice. You can also order wine by the glass or purchase bottles, which I found to be very reasonably priced. The views were absolutely amazing and the entire experience was so relaxing. It’s also dog-friendly, which is always a huge plus for me when traveling with my pup! Overall, I had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend stopping by.
We had a wonderful experience at Chateau Chantal. It helped that we made an appointment since it was Labor Day weekend. Despite absolutely huge crowds coming in, owner Marie, spent over an hour with us as industry bloggers sharing the history, production and products. This property is absolutely incredibly situated to have views of both sides of Mission Bay, and it's incredibly gorgeous. The investment in the property is immense with the incredible clean lines of rolling Hill vineyards, a massive world-class tasting facility, production room with lots of space, and retail products display space. Seating is all over, from the back rolling Hill patios, two front balcony terraces. They are well-staffed to handle large groups and give everyone great smiling friendly service. My glog has all the wine details, and we had 'finds'. Unique were the distillery items too. See wine-sage review for wine details. Overall the experience was reminiscint of the best we've seen in expensive California, with better views! Thanks Marie for the memorable experience. Definitely go. Best property we saw on Mission and Leelanau in Michigan.
We came here on the way back from the lighthouse and it was fairly busy. Despite that, we had little to no wait and were assisted by some helpful staff. The views are absolutely stunning, and the wines were pretty good. I need to state that I am not a heavy wine enthusiest, but with some minor direction, the employees gave me great tasting options that I enjoyed. They do serve light snacks, but no meals. Overall I would highly suggest a visit for the views and hospitality alone. Rooms rated 3 due to not having any experience with them.
The staff welcomed us right away and got us to our room without delay. We were met with breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape of the Grand Traverse Bay. We enjoyed multiple excellent wines and came home with a box as well. The staff made us feel like family and the entire Château is very welcoming. Breakfast is outstanding. We enjoyed speaking with the founder, Bob, and talking with his daughter who helped serve breakfast (outstanding brown sugar bacon). This hotel is perfect if you are looking for a romantic vacation with your significant other.
This winery was amazing. Welcoming staff and beautiful views. The wines were great and lovely shop. They have a bed and breakfast that was highly recommended which we look forward to stay in on our next visit. Totally recommend visiting them.
I came here with my husband and two sons. My husband and I wanted to check out their wine tasting room. We were greeted and welcomed right away. This made us feel so much better after a previous visit to a winery that didn't treat us with great service. We opted to sit inside because it was drizzling outside. We went outside to one of the patios after we finished up. We saw an employee wipe down a table for another party. We were impressed how accommodating and friendly the staff was. Thanks for making this winery a top destination in Traverse City and will recommend to all!
We came for a very special day, our friends bachelorette. The server, Bill was incredibly rude and did not greet us with kindness. He was also abrasive and did not provide great service. I also overheard him having an attitude with another group. We eventually got moved over to the server, Vee and she was so nice and helped all of us out.
Spent this past weekend at the Chateau Chantel Bed and Breakfast. It is a beautiful location with great views, our room was wonderful (Renoir suite), the breakfast both days was fabulous. It is situated on the Mission Peninsula a short distance from ten other wineries, but make sure to spend plenty of time at Chateau Chantel's own tasting room (you each get a free flight if staying there).
I’ve been here a couple times, and it’s always pleasant. $15 for a wine tasting of 3 wines. The wine is good quality and the staff is very welcoming and helpful, with good knowledge of the wines they provide. The balcony is beautiful and overlooks the vineyard, if you go when it’s nice out I highly recommend hanging out around there.
Since Traverse City is famous for its cherry harvest in the fall and winter ???, this season brings out all kinds of cherry wines! The winery is super popular for tastings, and you can try three wines for just $10 ?? Personally, I loved the cherry sparkling wine and the cherry beer — both were delicious and surprisingly refreshing ???
