I feel like we caught Avis on a bad day. Here is our review: First impression-When we walked in we could tell the hotel takes pride in cleanliness. That is why I booked this hotel. Room-First impression-Room was clean. Beds were decent. We liked the modern look and the ability to use our phone as the remote. We did not love the fire alarm that woke us at 7:30 Bathroom-I liked the modern shower and the sinks/shower were clean. I am grossed out by hair and after my shower I grabbed a “clean” towel and there was a long, black hair on it. Barf! ? I grabbed another and same thing. So gross to me. Fitness Room-Very clean. They have a good cardio and weight selection. Breakfast-They were out of eggs which was a huge bummer for our family. The trash was overflowing. Pool-Nice but freezing I get the impression this is not the norm, but we probably wouldn’t stay here again.

We love this hotel. We have stayed here year after year! The staff is great and we always feel like we are coming “home” again. Great beds and super pillows. Housekeeping EVERY day! The coffee is also worth raving about! You don’t need to go any where for a better cup!

We came to this hotel after a multi-day tent camping trip where we were rained on and wet the entire time. We were excited to get to the hotel and wind down and relax, but a few things prevented that from happening. We couldn’t wait to spend the day catching up on our shows and relaxing and since they advertised that they had Casting on the TV’s here it factored into the decision to pick this hotel. The WiFi would not recognize that I was a guest so I couldn’t join it and had to go down and get a special access code. Once I got that, the TV would not allow me to connect to the casting at all. After calling the help line to no avail, spoke to the manager who said that “everything looked fine” on their end and offered no further help, so now that was out of the question. Another major thing that really ruined the trip for us, was that we paid extra for this hotel due to hearing that the free breakfast was good. We figured we’d pay extra and not have to leave to go out for breakfast. Well we got down for breakfast pretty early and everything was gone, and a line of people waiting for more. When someone asked the front desk who was working it, they said that they were, and somehow didn’t see everyone standing there waiting for food. When it finally came out it was overly salty heated up eggs and dry sausage. That was the “good” breakfast we’d heard about. Second morning they also ran out pretty fast and everyone was told “their shipment didn’t have enough” so everyone was out of luck who didn’t get any. If we’d known this, there were hotels on the beach that were cheaper that we were considering and wished we’d have gone with. One positive thing I’ll say is the room was clean and nice and towels were changed out pretty quickly the next day. Other than that, I don’t think we’d return to this location.

Came in later in the evening and the front desk attendant was just a fresh and friendly as if I was her first guest of the day. Great explanation of the property, procedures, and amenities. Room was in pristine condition, I work in luxury resort housekeeping and this was one of the cleanest rooms I’ve stayed in at a smaller city. Will definitely rebook if I come this way again

Great location with adequate parking. Rooms by design are smaller than other hotels in IHG brand. This was first time stay for us. Fresh brewed coffee available 24/7 so no machine in room. Hotel was clean and staff friendly and helpful.

Clean, well-run hotel on the main strip by the Bay. If you're looking for luxury, this isn't the hotel. If you're looking for a great hotel with clean, quiet rooms with comfortable beds, black-out drapes at an affordable price, this is the one. The rooms do not have microwave or coffeemaker. They do have a small refrigerator. The lobby has 24 hour coffee machine and shared microwave. This was perfect for a work trip. I've been back twice and will probably come again.

Unfortunately, it was a quick stay. There was ample parking in the parking lot. The entire facility was clean. It was in a great location. The views of the lake were beautiful. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The beds were comfortable. It was in a very safe location. There was easy access to restaurants and entertainment.

Best stay I've had than any Illinois hotel . Extremely quiet, friendly staff, auto complimentary premium coffee and tea station with extras. Clean vinyl/gym style floor no dirty carpets. No microwave small freezer not working well though. Ice machine main floor. Parking slightly cramped on weekends. 1 way out exit. Usb charging ports all over convenient.

When I originally booked my room, I was unaware that there was a whole hockey team staying valentine weekend, so my first night, which was FEB 13, 2026, was very unenjoyable. The guests above my room were very loud and rude. Banging on floor all hours of the night, even waking me up at 2:30 and 4:00 in the morning by the sounds of them, what I am assuming was wrestling considering it sounded as if someone was being tossed around. I addressed the lady at the guest desk next morning which was FEB 14,2026 and that is when I was told about the YOUTH hockey team. I was not compensated or anything due to the lack of communication when I checked in. It would have been nice to be aware that the whole building was going to be full of loud and rude children who like to bang on floor all hours of the night, at least I could have got a refund through my app and went elsewhere. I was told I could get points towards a room but was never given information to where I would go to get that started. The Manager did in fact change my room to the top floor for my second night, which was more relaxing then the first night.

Update 2/15, to respond from their response??? Unacceptable Response? Why are Customers Informing You If the HVAC Issues? Do You Ever Inspect The Work(Or Lack of Work) If Your Employees??? Patrick Response?? Newer hotel. This my second stay on this location. Both visits, filters on HVAC unit NOT CLEANED. If you have never checked these I RECOMMEND YOU DO. Your breathing in someone ( multiple someone's) else's hair, smell, dust, gross? Room did not have HVAC on, so it was chili in room. Usually with non low budget hotels, they have HVAC on and usually mints on our pillows. FYI take pictures upon arrival to room. Both visits there was disgusting stains "UNADDRESSED, UNKNOWN" to staff. Not getting charged their incidental fee for lack of inspection by staff. This will be OUR last choice visit in TVCA for now on.
