The Hampton Inn Traverse City offers a comfortable base for exploring Traverse City and the surrounding area, with decent breakfast and a convenient location. However, recent reviews highlight recurring issues with room cleanliness, elevator malfunctions, and inconsistent service.
Our stay here was good. Not great but not bad either. The room was clean and a comfortable home base for visiting Traverse City. We stayed for 5 nights with just me and my wife. The location was about central of all the things we wanted to do: visit the Sleeping Bear Dunes, explore Traverse City, take a trip to Mackinac Island, have a beach day without salty waters, and try our luck at Turtle Creek Casino. Overall, we were happy with our stay. Thank you for being our host for exploring Traverse City and the surrounding area!
Had a great stay was breakfast was great, pool was clean and heated, rooms were smaller. Was impressed they had a cleaning crew clean up the hall and dining areas. Would stay again
The rooms could have been cleaner. Had an odor from the carpet. The remote control was nasty! Took 5 Lysol wipes to get it clean. Small shower. Housekeeping is every other day. That was fine if that happens. It did not. We had 3 days of towels and trash that had not been dealt with. Continuous issues with elevators. One of them was down most of the week. Then we got stuck in one of them for about 4 minutes until my husband was able to get it open. Not fun at all. We told front desk and didn’t seem to care. Breakfast was 2 out of 5. Entrance was dirty with dirty rugs. Our door did not close all the way. Had to pull hard to get it to close. Not very good lighting in room. We stay in Hampton inns all the time and this was the worst one ever!
Good view of the beach which is right across. Good breakfast. Bike friendly area. Clean room but could be larger. Beds were not queen sized as promised. Has plasma screen TV but netflix didn't connect.
Clean and overall a decent hotel, but we will not choose to stay here again. The rooms were okay - clean but very small so you can hear everything in the hallway. Nice shower. AC worked well. Comfortable king bed but TINY pillows. Breakfast was lower quality than any other Hampton we have stayed in, but it is nice that it is offered in the first place. We heard quite a few guests saying they had issues with their rooms. We woke up to drilling on our door the first morning at 7:50 AM. Management had told maintenance our room was out of order and no one was staying in it - the maintenance worker was profusely apologetic and apologized repeatedly each time we saw him. Super nice guy. The 2nd elevator was out of order for most of our stay (3 nights). My husband got stuck in it when it was finally working again, but thankfully it opened its doors after rides to each floor 2x. We had to go to the desk 3x because our keys stopped working. I have mixed feelings about this hotel. It's like things were ALMOST great, but it missed the mark. Not terrible, but we will try out other places on our next trip up north.
I was here on a work trip for 2 weeks. The views were beautiful ? The breakfast walks were the best! Better than any other hotel around. We were told they had shuttle from the airport but did not. Unfortunately that was a huge downfall. I did not need a rental car. Uber system here is not the greatest! My next visit I will definitely stay here in Traverse City?
Great room. Microwave and mini fridge. Small pool. Easy drive into the city center. Currently road construction hence the 4 stars for location. Wish they had self service laundry though.
We were forced to stay in Traverse City because of a delayed flight. We checked in at 2:am and we were greeted with a friendly, helpful desk clerk. The room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast had a lot of choices, something for everyone. We had a very nice experience.
Stayed six days while working in and near the area. Staff were incredibly professional and relatable, housekeeping was top notch, internet/wifi was perfect for officing, and breakfast was great each morning. The area is beautiful and I look forward to being back in different seasons of the year. I'll definitely stay again!
This place was clean and nice. We woke up and grabbed breakfast sitting in front of windows with a bay veiw. Breakfast was good and well stocked. The only con was the pillows. They were small and very uncomfortable. But all in all a very good experience.
