The Old Mission Inn offers a charming and historic retreat on the Old Mission Peninsula, lauded for its warm hospitality, delicious home-cooked meals, and beautiful setting. Guests consistently praise the owners' dedication to preserving the Inn's rich history and providing a truly welcoming experience. This property feels like stepping back in time while offering modern comforts.
Absolutely beautiful place to stay with amazing hospitality from the owner. Mrs. Sarah makes wonderful meatloaf, cinnamon rolls, and bread rolls. (From scratch). Couldn't have stayed a better place on the peninsula.
Wonderful week staying at historic Old Mission Inn - comfortable bed, clean bathroom with fresh very soft towels daily and a charming atmosphere. The host family are delightful people who attend to your every need. They prepare a good breakfast daily and don’t miss the homemade supper- especially the chicken!
Old Mission Inn's "Mission Bay Cafe" is now serving breakfast and dinner to the general public. We stopped in for breakfast this morning and had an absolutely wonderful experience which can only be described as "Americana." Other locals were there and we delighted in chatting with them. Sarah and Tyler Jensen greeted us when we arrived and immediately made us feel welcome. They are absolutely wonderful hosts. Angie and Bruce Jensen prepared our breakfast; I had blueberry pancakes and my wife had French toast. Both meals were excellent. The decor takes one back in time. And of note, they have a 1936 guest registry signed by Joe Louis and Babe Ruth who stayed at the Inn on the same night. There is a well-appointed replica of a telephone exchange from the early 1900s as one enters the Inn. One could spend quite some time marveling at the antiques. Stop on in to this quaint and cozy spot for breakfast and you will not be disappointed. I rate it ten out of ten for the people alone. The food and ambience make it an absolute gem. There is no doubt you will want to come back for more of the most genuine hospitality you will find on Old Mission Peninsula.
Stayed two nights and wish we had more time to enjoy this historic Inn and it's surroundings. The setting is peaceful with a pretty water view of the lake. The owners are incredibly kind, friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable about the history of the Inn and it's prior owners. We had a comfortable stay and enjoyed viewing the carefully chosen antiques around the property and reading stories about past owners. The location is convenient to the peninsula lighthouse, numerous vineyards, and orchards, as well as a short scenic drive to downtown.
My husband and I went there this past weekend to celebrate our 38th anniversary of first meeting. The Inn is beautiful from the outside and it was already decorated for Halloween. The owners greeted us warmly and gave a history of the Inn. They were clearly proud of all of the work they have put into the restorations and history they had gathered, as they should be. The place was like stepping back in time, but with enough modern conveniences to make you feel comfortable. We were later greeted by the owner's son and daughter-in-law and there sweet dog. We were treated like family. I was even able to eat breakfast there, because they served real food, not processed. And breakfasts were filled with warm conversations. The front porch had rocking chairs that my husband and I sat in each evening and relaxed while watching the view of the bay. It was so nice and relaxing that it was almost sad to leave. I absolutely recommend this place!!!
Very well restored inn with a great history. Service is exceptional. Rooms are tastefully decorated. Nice quiet location.
We have had the pleasure over the years of staying at some wonderful inns. I truly believe that our stay at the Old Mission Inn was the best ever. The antiques in this wonderful Inn are a feast for the eyes! The hosts are very proud of this place and it shows when they have the opportunity to tell you the history on all of these fabulous gems. Do not miss the chance to stay here if you are in the area. You will be very pleased!
My husband and I were here to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary in May 2019. Nice big house, beautiful scenery and tasty food for breakfast. Fascinating history as well. The inn keepers were very nice. The wine trail and wineries along the way are cool. The lighthouse at the tip of the pennisula is neat.
We had a wonderful weekend staying at the Old Mission Inn! Beautiful location with an amazing view of the bay. Our room was perfect; clean, cozy, and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious too! It was such a pleasure getting to know Bruce, Angie, Tyler, and Sarah! Thank you for the hospitality and fun conversations. We look forward to our next visit and will recommend the Inn to our friends and family. - Dennis and Rachel Ross
Great weekend! This is a great find located away from the noise and traffic of summer crowds in TC but still only 25 minutes away. If you visit, take some time to soak up the intriguing history that adorns the walls of this landmark. You'll never find better hosts than Angie, Bruce, Tyler, and Sarah (and Jackson). Good conversations and smiling faces abound. Take advantage of the great value of the breakfast too. Sandy beaches and great views are close by as well as a variety of wineries and roadside stands. We're looking forward to visiting again and having a cold drink on the porch.
